The Electoral Reform Society has responded to the recent leak of a draft of the Government’s long awaited Review of Electoral Systems. The Review, a two-time manifesto pledge and a work-in-progress since February 2005, was intended to critique the system at the heart of Westminster: first-past-the-post elections.

The Electoral Reform Society has responded positively to the Electoral Commission’s indictment of the recent e-voting pilots. The Commission has called for a halt to future pilots until adequate safeguards, including individual voter registration, are in place. Dr Ken Ritchie, Chief Executive of the Electoral Reform Society said that the integrity of the voting system at the heart of our democracy simply cannot be compromised.  test
